LYRICS

Last night was the most fun I ever had
We went out and painted the town front to back
Me and Chuck that son of a gun
When it comes to roamin around I don’t think anybody had as much fun
As a couple of kids like me and you we’re all grown up
Getting no younger it aint no wonder
A couple of kids like me and you we just keep knockin around
We never settle down on the wild side of town

Now last night I don’t know what the hell we did
There was fireworks and they were going off inside of my head
There was an old couch where I ended up in the night
When I woke up I was wrapped all around somebody’s wife
Chuck he said he’d get the scoop on that
Tell me who the husband was and where and when to watch my back

Just a couple of kids like me and you we’re all grown up
Aint getting no younger aint no wonder
A couple of kids like me and you we just keep knockin around
We never settle down on the wild side of town

Light up pass that thing around
I know she’ll come around
What’s wrong with a good time
I know we’ll never be found

Now last night was the worst night I ever had
I got locked up and I wrote my truck off some bad
We got burned out went off the track
Chuck went out on a stretcher and they said he might never come back
Well I hope he does and I hope he goes my bail
‘Aint no fun one son of a gun sitting all alone in a county jail

Just a couple of kids like me and you we’re all grown up
Getting no younger it aint no wonder
A couple of kids like me and you we just keep knockin around
No we never settle down on the wild side of town
